Agreement to Our Terms of Use

The following Terms of Use are a legal contract between customers and Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC, that sets forth the policy by which customers may use the services offered by Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC and the interfaces provided on LinguaFrancaLanguages.com and its social media pages, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Any subsequent mention of "this website" is in reference to LinguaFrancaLanguages.com. This website is operated by Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC and any usage of the following: "Lingua Franca", "we", "us", and "our" is in reference to said entity. This website was created with the purpose of providing translations and other language services, as well as detailed information on those services, to its users. Any subsequent usage of "you" or "your" is in reference to the users of LinguaFrancaLangauges.com and to the clients of Lingua Franca Language Operations, LLC.

We reserve the right at our sole discretion to change modify these terms of use at any time as we see fit without prior consent from the user. We will do our best to notify consumers following any significant modifications to these terms, however, it is ultimately the responsibility of the consumer to regularly familiarize him- or herself with these terms with continual use of our services. The date of the most recent modification to this page will always be posted in the upper right corner of this page for your reference.

Satisfaction Guarantee 

Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC offers a Satisfaction Guarantee that provides a refund for dissatisfaction with our services. The purpose of this guarantee is to demonstrate our commitment to high-quality services and exceeding customer expectations as well as to provide our customers with peace of mind and confidence in their decision to do business with us.

Please note that there are some instances in which a refund may not be granted under our Satisfaction Guarantee, including but not limited to: 

1. Your claim was submitted more than a week after receiving the service

2. Your reason for the refund is something other than a verifiable issue or error with the service, such as a change of mind or personal preference, etc.

3. The issue with the product or service was due to an error on the customer's behalf, such as providing incorrect information or not explaining all of the requirements for his or her translation, etc.

4. The product (such as a completed translation) was lost, damaged, or altered by the client causing it to be unsuitable for the intended purpose.

 

In the case of tutoring services, if you find that you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your sessions, in order to be eligible for the refund under the Satisfaction Guarantee, you must provide evidence of neglect on the part of the tutor, such as being unprepared, acting inappropriately, or not providing adequate guidance, etc.

Acceptance Guarantee 

Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC offers an Acceptance Guarantee that promises that your translation will be adequate for and accepted by the USCIS or other official organizations that typically require certified translation. We offer this to ensure peace of mind for our customers so that they may rest assured in their legal process involving certified translation. Although we are experienced with the requisites for many common uses of certified translations, such as for immigration purposes, there may be other miscellaneous purposes that have additional or slightly different specific requirements.

Under our Acceptance Guarantee, we promise to revise and rectify your translation if there is an error or requisite missing from your translation, preventing its acceptance. If we are unable to rectify the translation so that it may be accepted for whatever process you require, we will offer a full refund.

Please note that there are some instances in which a refund may not be granted under our Acceptance Guarantee, including but not limited to: 

1. Your claim was submitted more than a week after receiving the service

2. The issue with the translation was due to an error on the customer's behalf, such as providing incorrect or incomplete information or not properly communicating all of the organizations requesting the translations and all of the requisites therefor, etc.

3. The translation was lost, damaged, or altered by the client causing it to be unsuitable for the intended purpose.

 

Services and Pricing 

Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC offers a wide variety of language services and solutions, whose names, descriptions, and prices are listed on our Services Page. 

These services include, but aren't limited to: 

• Translation of Official, Academic, and Professional Documents for $21.95

  • 250 words or less​

• Translation of Advertisements for $15.95

  • 150 words or less​

• Translation Publications, Business Documents, and Websites for $0.08 per word 

• Personal Translations 

  • 120 words or less​

• Localization 

  • Free with our translations or $0.04 per word for external documents and translations ​

• Post-Editing 

  • $0.04 per word​

• Proofreading 

  • $0.02 per word​

• Transcription 

  • $1.25 per audio minute ​

  • $5.50 per audio minute if translation is included 

• Subtitling 

  • $6.00 per audio minute ​

  • $12.00 per audio minute if translation is included

We reserve the right at our sole discretion to change modify the terms and pricing of these services at any time as we see fit without prior consent from the user. Though at this time, this doesn't apply, these changes may include, but are not limited to, changing our per-word translation rate or applying a surcharge for translation or interpretation of more expensive language pairs, as we are always striving to expand our teams and the languages that we offer. In this event, the actual price will be advertised on our website and/or you will be notified prior to confirmation of your order. We will do our best to notify consumers following any significant modifications to these terms, however, it is ultimately the responsibility of the consumer to regularly familiarize him- or herself with these terms with continual use of our services. The date of the most recent modification to this page will always be posted in the upper right corner of this page for your reference.

Interpretation 

 The different types and their respective charges are as follows:

• Consecutive Interpretation

• Simultaneous Interpretation

• On-Demand Interpretation

• On-Site, In-Person Interpretation

  • $38 per hour ​

  • 1 hour minimum charge 

  • $0.25 surcharge per mile traveled outside of a 40 mile radius of our Providence Headquarters

• Telephonic Interpretation 

  • $1.75 per minute ​

  • 15 minute minimum charge

  • Surcharges may apply for international calls

• Remote Video Interpretation

  • $35 per hour ​

  • 1 hour minimum charge 

For interpretation services that are scheduled in advance and result in a no-call/no-show or that are cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled service, there will be a $15 cancellation fee to cover losses incurred by the company.

Delivery Times/Methods & Optional Services/Fees

Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC responds quickly to orders and requests and offers completion and delivery within 24 hours for most orders under 5 pages (one page being worth 250 words or less). Expedited & Same-day delivery incur a $10 surcharge

per document (or a 30% surcharge for larger works, like publications and websites, etc.). The specific timeframe for the completion of the order will be discussed upon confirmation after a translator has reviewed your order and its requirements, but no guarantees or promises for delivery are made until then.

The most common and most practical method for delivery for most orders is via email at no extra cost.

There is no charge for faxing. If you need a physical copy of your order, you can pick it up for free at our office location in Providence, RI. You can request us to hand delivery for a $10 surcharge, but the availability of this option is dependent on your proximity to our office location and is at the translator's discretion. You can request Standard Mail Delivery for a $2.99 surcharge with a 1-5 day delivery time, or we can overnight your order to you for a $27 surcharge.

Translations for Official Documents, Academic Documents, Advertisements, Personal Documents, etc. have a set price for a single-page order and a per-word limit (listed above and on the Services Page). There will be an $0.08 surcharge for each word over the per-word maximum.

Notarization is offered for all certified translations. It is not included automatically, since it is not required for most purposes of certified translation. If you need notarization for your document, there is an $5 surcharge per stamp. If you expedited your order and the timeframe falls outside of normal notary business hours, there is a $25 surcharge for expedited notarization outside of normal business hours since we have to use Notarize.com a 24-hour online system that is more expensive.

Intellectual Property 

Unless otherwise stated, this website and the content therein is our rightful property. This includes, but is not limited to, all website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, and other graphics. These and any logo, trademark, or service mark pertaining to our company and our website are controlled by us or licensed to us and are protected under copyright, trademark, unfair competition, and intellectual property laws in the United States and internationally. This website does occasionally feature other graphics that are public domain or used according to fair use laws, such as the links to our social media pages or our accepted payment methods that feature company logos that are not controlled by us.

All content made available to you by Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC is for your information and personal use. Except as expressly permitted by these terms of use, you are NOT permitted to copy, reproduce, republish, aggregate, upload, post, distribute, sell, license, transmit, encode, or otherwise commercially use any content on this website. This includes in any translated forms as well. Provided that you are eligible to use this website, you are permitted under limited license to access and use the website and its content. You may also download, print, or copy content from our website for your own personal use and reference, as long as it is not utilize it commercially or attempt to claim it as your own intellectual property.

User Representations

By using this website, you warrant that: (1) you have reasonable legal capacity to agree with and comply with these terms and conditions (2) you are NOT a minor in the jurisdiction in which you reside (3) you will NOT attempt to access this website through automated or non-human means, such as with a bot or a script, etc., as proper precautions will be taken to prevent such uses (4) you will not utilize this site for any illicit or unauthorized purposes (5) your use of this site does not violate any applicable law, regulation, or restriction.

If you use our website or our services without complying with the above conditions or, additionally, if you provide any information on our site that is deliberately false, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, we reserve the right to terminate any accounts and refuse future services, especially if said information violates the law or causes potential harm to Lingua Franca Language Solutions, LLC and its assets or anybody else.

Prohibited Activities

You may not utilize this site or our services for any other purpose other than that which we intended. Our services and website shall not be used for any commercial uses other than those which are explicitly approved by us.

As a user of our website, you must agree not to:

• Systematically retrieve and compile site data without our consent

• Mislead or defraud any other site users especially as a means to harm them or obtain sensitive information

• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with our site's operations and security precautions

• Misuse our support services and communication methods by means of false reporting, spamming, harassing, etc.

• Use this site as part of any attempt to compete with us or interfere with our operations

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed and defined by the laws of Rhode Island and the United States of America. You irrevocably consent that the laws and courts of Rhode Island and / or the United States have jurisdiction to resolve any dispute that may arise in relation to these terms.

Limitations of Liability 

IN NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL WE OR ANY OF OUR EMPLOYEES OR AFFILIATES BE HELD LIABLE FOR YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGE OR LOSS OF PROFIT, REVENUE, OR DATA AS A RESULT OF YOUR USE OF OUR WEBSITE AND SERVICES EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Indemnification 

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us unaccountable, including any employees or affiliates, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, demands, or fees that arise as a result of (1) your use of our website and its services (2) your breach of these terms of use (3) your violation of any applicable laws (4) your violations of our rights (intellectual or otherwise) or those of a third party
